I was able to re-enable mic and cameraby going to:Ĭomputer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\AppPrivacy\LetAppsAccessCameraĪnd change the 'value' from 2 to 0 - by deleting the 2 and then doing the same for LetAppsAccessMicrophone One of these has been identified as an update for some preview program for pre-releases. There are several more ports, which ones I do not know - yet, and microsoft is pushing its updates through these ports into the OS. I thought I knew how to stop the updates (I work in an IT department in a reasonably large company).
And here is where it becomes interesting. In a number of forums this message is claimed to be a result of microsoft's forced updates. Mic, camera, locked screen background, the list goes on.
I have just discovered that whole number of my privacy settings have been set to 'hidden or controlled by your organisation'. This may be of interest in trying to resolve this issue.
